Hillhead 2024

Join ConSpare at Hillhead 2024

ConSpare work with customers to improve concrete batching plants through high-performance equipment, spare parts and site services. Established in 1978 as a mixer maintenance specialist, we have evolved to become a key problem-solving partner across the production process.

At Hillhead, we continue to highlight our drive to help make plants and production more sustainable, while also shining a light on how batch plant equipment selection and maintenance decisions have a positive impact on the welfare of site staff.

We’ll be demonstrating how we solve batch plant problems, from the start of the process to the finish. We have displays from across our product range, a number of which revolve around mixing, conveyor improvement, wear & flow linings, silo components, moisture measurement, truck mixer cleaning, and much more…

ON STAND: Second White Paper Launch

We are pleased to reveal that we will soon be launching our second sustainability white paper, with the release taking place at Hillhead 2024.

The white paper, titled “The right mix: Addressing the “S” of ESG for concrete batch plants – putting people at the centre of investment decision-making”, highlights the direct link between concrete batch plant performance and the wellbeing of staff.

Be sure to stop by stand F6 to obtain a copy at the exhibition.

ON STAND: TEKA THT

The TEKA THT is a mixing revolution. The unique MixTurbine design is optimised for use with the highest standard premium concretes and the most difficult mixing tasks. The sweep of the MixTurbine generates a swing and throw effect, resulting in high intensity mixing with very little energy wasted ‘outside’ of the mixing process. THT is highly flexible, perfect for variable batch sizes and regular changes of product.

On-stand at Hillhead 2024 will be a TEKA THT type E-1-3 mixer. The machine is a 750 litre (0.5m³ concrete output) version, with 30kW electric motor and 3kW hydraulic drive. It features a single MixTurbine and tungsten-carbide coated discharge scraper. The mixer is currently configured in “show spec”, showcasing multiple wear plate options, a Walter RD3 mixer washout cleaning head, and a Hydronix Hydro-Mix probe.

ON STAND: Save power with SILOTOP® polyTUBE™

Alongside our silo components displays, we will have the new WAM SILOTOP® polyTUBE™ silo venting filter.

Specifically designed for concrete batching plants, this new filter gives excellent performance and is smaller, quieter, lighter, has fewer parts and has substantially lower running costs.

WAM SILOTOP® polyTUBE™ is extremely energy efficient. The filter cartridges are cleaned using pulse mechanical cleaning instead of the traditional method of reverse-jet cleaning, eliminating the use of compressed air. Compressed air requires large amounts of electricity, and this electricity is responsible for significant financial costs and CO2 emissions.

ON STAND: Saving cement with Hydronix

Hydronix digital microwave moisture measurement equipment improves the efficiency of concrete production. Accurate and reliable moisture measurement in both the raw materials and finished product helps concrete producers reduce costs, wasted materials and CO2 associated with production.

Hydronix pioneered the microwave technique and has gone on to become market leader. The equipment is tried and tested with over 85,000 sensors installed worldwide, and they continue to develop solutions and new products – such as their latest development, the next generation water control system, Hydro-Control 7.

Join us on stand to see how Hydronix can help you measure hidden moisture in aggregates and control moisture in the mixer.

ON STAND: Save water with Walter

Walter CleverSwitch – Reducing fresh water usage by up to 80%

Debuting at Hillhead 2024, this latest development opens the opportunity to use settled recycled (grey) water within the automated cleaning cycle of a Walter Mixer Washout System. The system can utilise the recycled water available on-site without comprising performance or service-life of the washout.

When used with a typical Walter Mixer Washout System on a standard automated wash cycle, the CleverSwitch will use 800 litres of recycled water and only 200 litres of fresh water – a fresh water saving of 80%.

ON STAND: Cleaning truck mixers

Walter’s drum cleaning system, FMT, is designed to deep clean truck mixer drums on a daily basis, removing the fresh concrete residue before it turns into hardened build-up. This preventative maintenance tool is an efficient, safe to operate, and cost-effective way to maintain the drum. Benefits of the FMT daily system include:

• Improvements in Health & Safety – no manual cleaning from the inside of the drum
• Lower operating costs – a lighter truck uses less fuel and wears less
• Maintain capacity of drum – transport only fresh concrete rather than hardened build-up
• Extended lifetime of drum – no damage inflicted from manual cleaning
• Higher availability of the vehicle – Short daily cleaning times
• Quick and simple – operated by the truck driver at the touch of a button

Stop by stand F6 and speak to our Capital Equipment team about this innovative product, and the Walter range as a whole.
