Another tool to combat plant blockages
Material build-up and blockages at any point in the concrete production process are a real problem. Although it may initially seem like a minor irritant, build-up in the mixer discharge chute can have a significant impact on efficient concrete discharge and truck loading. If the chute becomes blocked, it impacts on the operation of the mixer itself and ultimately brings production to a halt.

Where build-up or caking is experienced, intensive daily cleaning is required to ensure the chute stays clear from blockage. This cleaning routine is difficult, time consuming and increases risk for site operatives, with working at height and the use of pneumatic hammers a common occurrence.
ConeFlex – Solving chute blockages
At ConSpare we pride ourselves on solving common industry problems like this, and in 2013 we introduced ConeFlex conical chute liners. This intelligently designed product has helped concrete producers up and down the country keep their mixer discharge chutes clear from blockages. The low friction, elastic, and abrasion resistant conical liners resist concrete build-up and are quick and simple to clean. Staff site can now spend significantly less time cleaning the chute and more time on production

ConeFlex also simplifies maintenance. It’s light-weight, simple to install, and the clever dual-colour polyurethane provides an easy to spot wear indicator.
Now available – New design for offset chutes
ConeFlex was originally launched as a solution for symmetrical cones, but we’ve worked with the manufacturer and helped develop a new variant suitable for offset conical chute designs. Offset chutes are widely used and regularly found on plants with double outlet mixers.
Offset cones have traditionally proven difficult to line effectively, but as ConeFlex chutes are custom made to suit the individual chute and feature a seamless design, they can simply be dropped into place with minimal interruption.

More about ConeFlex
ConeFlex is constructed from Hawiflex® polyurethane, which is both highly abrasion resistant and low friction. The ‘non-stick’ properties of ConeFlex resist concrete adhesion, which vastly improves concrete discharge and makes cleaning simple and safe. Maintaining the liner typically only requires a brief rinse down with a lance to uphold effectiveness.
The durability of ConeFlex ensures low-cost operation over the long-term, it also protects the chute steelwork from damage and minimises ongoing maintenance requirements. The polyurethane formula is resistant to wear, UV, standard cleaning agents and mould oils, and the strong seamless design eliminates the need for a glued joint. ConeFlex is proven to handle anything the concrete production process can throw at it for years to come.
