Twinshaft mixers are commonplace throughout the UK, yet maintaining them is often considered an arduous task for maintenance teams. This is why in 2023, ConSpare launched a Supply & Fit service for replacement twinshaft components via our approved subcontractor, Impact Engineering.
One such client was a busy readymix plant producing high-strength concrete. Their twinshaft mixer would regularly require replacement parts due to impact and wear during the mixing process. The work was undertaken by two members of the maintenance team and normally took a week each time.
Although regularly maintained, the twinshaft mixer had not been fully refurbished in 10 years and was long overdue. With limited in-house resource to undertake the project, the maintenance team were searching for an alternative. Having seen ConSpare’s work with Julian Wilkins and Impact Engineering on LinkedIn, they contacted us for help.
Following a conversation with our Spare Parts division, a site visit was arranged for the mixer to be assessed, and parts were then ordered. A date was scheduled to suit client requirements, and the parts were sent directly from our UK warehouse to site, ready for Impact Engineering to get started.
The full refurb was completed in just four and a half days and consisted of replacing:
